Easter is all about rebirth. And at this time of year, we see that nowhere more prominently than amongst flowers. Wherever you go in March and April there are crocuses and daffodils popping up in gardens. Muscari slowly pushing up through the earth. Primroses and cowslips in meadows and woodlands, while dog violets are beginning to form buds. There is a palpable sense of rejuvenation in spring. But how do you bring that feeling of new life and optimism into your home without disrupting the natural balance of nature outside?
Which Flowers to Choose for a Perfect Easter Floral Arrangement
1. Mellow yellows

Spring carries a certain joie de vivre, and no other colour matches that sentiment so perfectly as yellow. Yellow flowers are simply joyous. And a bouquet that marries the lights and the brights, the deeps and the mellows of this life affirming colour is sure to shine on Easter Sunday. An arrangement like Lemon Drizzle, which combines large headed roses, germini, spray chrysanthemums, alstroemeria and solidago, will bring colour, scent and happiness throughout the Easter period.
2. Spring bulbs
Daffodils and tulips are the exception to the rule, but most spring flowers don’t perform well once cut. So, why not consider bringing living flowers into your home, with a planted arrangement of bulbs? Miniature narcissus, hyacinths, iris and muscari (grape hyacinth), with an underlayer of primulas can make a simply gorgeous Easter basket.
3. Wonderful whites

New life and purity are practically synonymous. And what colour do we all associate with purity? White. So, selecting an arrangement like the Fragrant Whites Vase brings simplicity, beauty, scent, and the sense of renewal. With the freshness of the green foliage off-setting the flawless blooms, an arrangement of white flowers makes an outstanding choice for an Easter table.
4. Go for gerberas
While gerberas don’t have any particular association with Easter, they are often favoured around this time for their cheerful simplicity and beauty. Whether you go for a series of single stems in individual vases, one big, bold display of many gerbera blooms, or an arrangement like our Blazing Beauty, where the gerbera is complemented by other floral companions, the choice is yours. But you can be confident that your gerberas will always make a splash.
5. Opt for an orchid
If you’re looking for flowers to give as an alternative to a chocolate egg, the orchid makes a really good choice. Easy to care for, and available in a range of colours, orchids have one of the longest blooming seasons. Symbolising beauty, tolerance and strength, they’re the perfect gift for a friend, parent or spouse. And if well looked after, they will last for years, a constant reminder of you.
With lockdown and some fairly extreme weather, it feels like this winter has been a long one. With Easter, we have the hope of better things to come. And there is no better way of celebrating that than by bringing a reviving splash of floral colour into your home.
